Billy Corgan and his band The Smashing Pumpkins are reportedly suing their former record label Virgin over a breach of contract.
The band claims that Virgin should not be using their name and music for marketing purposes, as they have in a recent 'Pepsi Stuff' campaign, because it jeopardizes their "artistic integrity"!
Clearly the Pumpkins don't want to appear to have 'sold-out' by aligning themselves with such mass-marketed products as Pepsi.
The lawsuit requests that Virgin pay the band their share of profits earned in the Pepsi deal and also that an injunction be placed upon future use of the Smashing Pumpkin's name and music for purposes other than physical and digital sales.
Meanwhile The Smashing Pumpkins are making a comeback with their new single 'That's The Way (My Love Is)' making a recent appearance in the charts!
