Akon Calls Australians Convicts

Rapper Akon is in the country for the Roc Tha Block tour, but says he can't understand what all the fuss was about with his visa application troubles.

Immigration officials took a while to approve Akon's working visa due to criminal offences on his record.

He told Melbourne newspaper the Herald Sun "Australia is the home of the convicts so it's the last place I would have ever thought it would be a problem."

"I've been on the road for three years and it's the first time I've had this problem."
