My Chemical Romance Cancel Australian Soundwave Tour

05 February 2010

My Chemical Romance have been forced to cancel their upcoming tour plans including their appearance at the Soundwave Festival.

Soundwave organisers have apologised to MCR fans and announced that they've replaced the popular rockers with old favourites Jimmy Eat World.

According to the press release, My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way has been having severe vocal problems and has been advised by doctors to get treatment.

MCR gave this message to fans:

"We are really sorry that we've had to cancel this tour, and apologise for any inconvenience it has caused. The last thing we ever want to do is cancel shows, but we'll be back to Australia to make it up to the fans as soon as possible."

If you have a ticket to the My Chemical Romance side show at Luna Park on Thursday February 25 you can obtain a full refund at the point of purchase.

Jimmy Eat World have also announced sideshows as part of their visit, details below!

TUESDAY 23 FEBRUARY - SYDNEY, UNSW ROUNDHOUSE -- Licensed All Ages

THURSDAY 25 FEBRUARY - MELBOURNE, PALACE THEATRE -- 18+
