Jess Gets Ambitious

Jessica Simpson has said that she worked really hard for her new movie 'Blonde Ambition.'

After starring as Daisy Duke in 'The Dukes of Hazzard', and then alongside as shop assistant Amy in 2006's 'Employee of the Month', Jess has just finished filming her new movie and wants to be taken seriously as an actor.

"I don't want to sound conceited or brag or anything, but I really did do a good job," Jess said. "I am so proud of myself."

Jess stars in 'Blonde Ambition' alongside funny man Andy Dick, who she also co-starred with in 'Employee of the Month'. "He's a genius, I believe that," Jess said of her co-star. "He is just so great behind the camera and makes everybody on the set laugh so hard."

The film tells the story of a girl trying to succeed in the business world, and has been described as a remake of the 80's classic 'Working Girl', which starred Melanie Griffith and Harrison Ford.

Being the main character in this flick, Jess felt the pressure. "The hardest thing about 'Blonde Ambition' was that I'm carrying the weight of the movie on my shoulders," she said. "I was in every shot, pretty much... You don't really understand until a week after you're done shooting, and you're like, 'Oh my gosh, I memorised all those lines! Wow!'"

'Blonde Ambition' is released later this year, and Jess already has another pic lined up, proving that she's serious about establishing an acting career.

Meanwhile boyfriend John Mayer played a sold-out show at New York's Madison Square Garden this week with a special guest performance by r'n'b star Alicia Keys.
