The 2007 APRA (Australasian Performing Rights Association) awards were held in Melbourne last night, with the cream of Aussie music leaving with the big awards.
Melbourne boys Augie March were the biggest winners this year, taking out the top gong of 'Song of the Year' for their hit 'One Crowded Hour'. Front man Glenn Richards also picked up 'Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year'.
Rock trio Wolfmother won 'Songwriter of the Year', and Shannon Noll's 'Lift' was the 'Most Performed Australian Work'.
Other awards went to TV Rock's massive dance hit 'Flaunt It' as 'Most Performed Dance Work'; Bernard Fanning's 'Songbird' as 'Most Performed Blues and Roots Work'; and Jet's international hit 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl' scored 'Most Performed Australian Work Overseas'.
