It has been a long wait, but finally US rockers the Kings Of Leon have been recognized commercially in their homeland.
The Kings returned home on Friday (31Jul09) and shut down New York City's Rockefeller Centre after thousands of fans came out to welcome the band back to the states.
The family four piece from Tennessee have enjoyed success in Australia and Europe for many years, but it wasn't until the release of their forth album 'Only By The Night' that their homeland jumped on the King's bandwagon.
On their return from Europe, producers from the breakfast TV program the 'Today Show' informed the boys that more than 20,000 fans had requested passes for their free gig... which is a new record for the summer concert series.
Lead singer Caleb Followill was stoked about returning home: "We've been touring for well over a year now. It feels like we never get off tour. We're coming to the point where we finally can get to play and spend more time in America. It's a little easier to travel around home."
Check out their single that's been doing the business: 'Sex On Fire'!
