Lily Allen has spoken publicly for the first time since the birth of her baby girl in a message via her Twitter account.
The Brit singer, who now goes by her married name of Cooper (@MrsLRCooper on Twitter), gave birth last week although no official announcement has been made.
In a message on Twitter today, Lily wrote: "Thank you for all the flowers and lovely messages everybody. very touching indeed. nuff luv xx."
The 26-year-old is usually a regular Twitter user but had not posted any messages for more than a week. Her last one had been the brief "Totes amaze" on November 25 - the day she gave birth.
Lily's sister, Sarah Owen, confirmed the baby news via Twitter saying: "I LOVE my little niece! She's the sweetest little thing ever!! So proud of little sis @MrsLRCooper xxx."
Lily lives in Gloucestershire with her husband Sam Cooper, whom she married this year, and has often said her dream life would include a country home and lots of children.
Unfortunately Lily has suffered a lot of misfortune in the baby race, when she lost a baby six months into a pregnancy last year and suffered a miscarriage in 2008 when she was dating Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons.
We are so happy for Lily!
