Alkaline Trio Top 5 Facts

All three band members are playable characters in the Emogame series.

Matt Skiba and drummer Derek Grant are apparently members of the Church of Satan.

When choosing their band name they decided they wanted to be something "Trio" because they didn't know many bands that were, so they used the dictionary and didn't even get past the A's, picking Alkaline. They became the Alkaline Trio.

The Trio's music is characterised by 'dark lyrics, catchy hooks, fast tempos and recurring subjects of alcoholism, heartbreak, boredom, fire, drugs, blasphemy, and death.'

In 2003, an outcry was heard by fans when they noticed a second guitar player hidden beside the speakers during the band's live performances. Fans worried there was a fourth member of Alkaline Trio, which would contradict the band's name. It turned out to be their tour manager, playing extra guitar parts for them!
