Guy & Paulini Collaborate for Youth Day Song

Take40.com reported recently that Guy Sebastian has recorded a song for 'World Youth Day' - so when we caught up with him earlier this week, we asked him about it.

"Yeah that was cool, just came up at the very last minute, literally the last submissions for this event," Guy explained. "It was the next morning when I found out about it. I just got on the piano, it was really strange. It (songwriting) will take you a couple of days sometimes... but I got on the piano and I think coz it's sort of spiritual type music - I've sung that stuff since I was a little kid and it just sort of flowed..."

Guy said that he wrote the whole song really quickly, just by "singing the lyrics as I was writing the song." "It was... one of those songs that was written in three minutes!"

Guy enlisted the help of fellow Aussie Idol graduate Paulini to record the track. "I got Paulini in the studio... she makes an appearance on the songs and signs it as sort of a duet with me and she's great," Guy said.

Guy and Paulini will be performing the song 'Receive the Power' at a special WYD08 event on in Sydney on July 1.
