In December, Jess's version of Night Of My Life was leaked by a New Zealand website which released it legally for download, even though she was not the winner!

When she was only 14 Jess won the 'Road to Tamworth' talent search, which gave her a record deal with Sony BMG. She recorded a country version of 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' by Cyndi Lauper. There was a bit of controversy surrounding this during her stint on Idol, because contestants are not allowed to already have a recording contract.
