Rihanna Reveals Reason For Fight - "I Caught Him In A Lie" In Full Interview

The full interview Rihanna gave to US TV host Diane Sawyer earlier this week has aired on '20/20' last night in the US and gave us some more insight into Rihanna's ordeal.

Rihanna confirms the previous media reports, revealing that their fight started after Chris received a text message from another girl as they left the pre-Grammy party on February 8.

"I caught him in a lie, and he wouldn't tell the truth," Rihanna explained. "So I wouldn't drop it... I kept saying I couldn't take that he kept lying to me, he couldn't take that I wouldn't drop it, because obviously his back was up against the wall. The truth was right there in the text message."

Rihanna said she's embarrassed for going back to Chris, but was worried he'd do something stupid after all the media hype spun out of control.

But shortly after their trip to Miami Rihanna decided she'd had enough.

"I just said to him, 'I can't do this.' I resented him. I resented him so much. And I always put the tough face on...and just try to play it off. But he knew, he knew it. He kept asking me, 'You hate me, don't you? You hate me'. And I would lie and I would say, 'No, no. And... I did hate him... Everything about him annoyed me. So finally... I just said, we can't do this."

Rihanna says that despite everything she still cares about him and wants him to do well.
