TAKE 40 EXCLUSIVE
Take 40 caught up with Chester and Rob from Linkin Park while they've been in the country for their 'Minutes to Midnight' tour, who told us all about Chester Bennington's mix-up at the airport!
Chester recently had a little trouble at customs when he tried to get through with a pair of dirty golf shoes. "We were going to New Zealand and I didn't think about declaring my golf shoes, it wasn't anything that I'd ever experienced before," Bennington explained. "...they threatened me with going to jail when I went through customs coz I didn't declare it... and they were dirty because, you know, they're golf shoes... they were dirty from the soil!"
Meanwhile, front man Chester is recovering from a broken wrist he acquired from a crash landing during a jumping move at their second Melbourne gig on Monday night. Rather than going straight to the hospital, Bennington continued the remainder of the show with his swollen arm in tow! Rock and Roll!
Linkin Park wrap up the Australian leg of their tour in Brisbane on Monday night, then it's off to Asia for another close string of shows, for the guys who have in the past traveled approximately 30,000 air miles in around 23 days! "We try to squeeze in as many shows in as little time as possible," they say.
The next single from their hit album 'Minutes to Midnight' will be 'Shadow of the Day', due for release before the end of the year.
