Katy Perry Approached To Appear In Movie

04 March 2012

Katy Perry has been approached to star in a new movie about British opera singer Paul Potts.

Film executives are preparing to start work on a biopic telling the life story of the star, who found fame after winning Simon Cowell's Britain's Got Talent in 2007.

Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein is backing the project and has revealed that he recently spoke to Katy about taking a part in the film during a pre-Oscars party in New York last month (February).

Weinstein has confirmed that he wants Perry or Adele to play Potts' wife, and that Katy seemed "genuinely interested" in the job.

He told New York Post column Page Six, "I was talking to Katy about a new project, a possible dramatic role in the Paul Potts movie, which will be shooting in England soon. We'd really like someone like Katy or Adele to play the role of Potts' wife, and Katy seemed genuinely interested."

We hope this one works out! Katy belongs on the big screen!
