Sam Sparro Gets Behind Madonna

Aussie singer/DJ Sam Sparro sat down for a chat with our UK correspondent recently... here's what he had to say.

"If you're going to be behind someone, you might as well be behind Madonna!," laughs 25 year-old Aussie singer Sam Sparro, whose vampy and sexy debut single 'Black & Gold' has been sitting behind Madonna at #2 on the UK charts for the last couple of weeks.

Seemingly out of nowhere Sam has suddenly become one of the hottest new artists on the block, playing live shows, and sharing the stage, around the world with artists such as Mark Ronson, Adele and Robyn. The single 'Black & Gold' - already a disco anthem and soon to be a chart smash down under in Australia - is lifted off his self-titled album which has already made the Top 5 in the UK.

Filled with funky dance rhythms, cheeky attitude, and strong soulful vocals, Sam Sparro is proving he's a nu-wave soul boy, who's got the goods to deliver hit after hit.

Now living in between London and LA, Sam says even though he's missing home in Sydney, right now he's focused on making his career happen internationally.

"I have to be all over the world at the moment; the time for me is now and I want to make the most of it. I miss being at home with family and friends in Australia, but I come back as often as I can."

Aussie audiences will get a chance to get sweaty with Sam in a few months time when he returns to Australia as part of the line-up for the 2008 'Splendour in the Grass' festival!
