Eiffel 65 Biography
Eiffel 65 are an Italian studio based outfit who combine the talents of a group of producers, DJ's, vocalists and sound technicians. Their hit song 'Blue (Da Ba Dee)' remained at No.1 on the Australian charts for many weeks at the close of 1999. It was composed by Maurizio Lobina, Gianfranco Randone and Massimo Gabutti. Maurizio describes the process of coming up with their unusual group name:
'Coming up with the name of a group is always a delicate process given that it should represent the artist and/or his music. Contravening this rule, we decided to make a computer programme that would create names at random because, in our opinion, 'chance' is a powerful creative instrument. And that's how Eiffel 65 came up. Basically we threw the dice letting also God take the responsibility upon himself. It obviously brought us good luck.
