Latino heart-throb Ricky Martin is set to receive an award for being an example to the Hispanic community.
Martin will receive one of five awards at a ceremony to be held on September 20 at the John F. Kennedy Center for Peforming Arts in Washington.
Pedro Jose Greer Jr., chairman of the board of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation said that the recipients of the awards, "Serve the needs of the disenfranchised in America, and in some cases all over the world, beyond the immense talents for which they are commonly known."
