Gorillaz And Blur No More, Says Damon Albarn

09 April 2012

Damon Albarn, front-man of bands Gorillaz and Blur has said both music acts will cease to exist.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, Albarn stated that Blur would be winding down due to difficulty collaborating with drummer Dave Rowntree and bassist Alex James.

"It's harder for them to reconnect. You know what I mean? It's fine when we play live -- it's really magical still -- but actually recording new stuff, and swapping musical influences... it's quite difficult" he explained.

He also added that new music from Gorilaz was "unlikely".

"The music and the videos weren't working as well together... It's a shame"

The Grammy Award-winning Gorillaz has been a hugely successful side project for Albarn and featured guest artists such as De La Soul, Bobby Womack, Snoop Dogg, Neneh Cherry, Lou Reed and the late Denis Hopper.
