Ella Hooper's Facebook Impersonation Scandal

22 October 2010

Australian singer Ella Hooper has been impersonated by a Facebook imposter.

The imposter created a Facebook fan page and pretended to be Ella, using photos of the former Killing Heidi star to convince over 5000 fans it was her official page.

They were caught out when they posted racist rants on the page, including referring to Thai population as "Asian pigs" and "stupid people".

Ella, who now fronts The Verses with her brother Jesse, asked Facebook to take down the fake page.

Ella's publicist said, "We are in the process of getting this page removed from Facebook.

"Ella and Jesse Hooper communicate directly via The Verses Facebook page and update this regularly, so any friends and fans wanting to get in touch can find the real Ella Hooper there."
