The 2008 Grammy Awards will still go ahead, despite the writer's strike in Hollywood.
Tinsel-town writers have apparently signed an 'interim' agreement with Grammy organisers to commission work on the Awards ceremony.
The Writers Guild of America, whose members have been on strike over royalties since November, issued a statement with regards to the Grammys.
"The Board of Directors of the Writers Guild of America, West has agreed to grant an interim agreement for this year's Grammy Awards in Los Angeles," the statement read. "Professional musicians face many of the same issues that we do concerning fair compensation for the use of their work in new media."
Grammy organisers the Recording Academy are overjoyed with the decision. "Having our talented writers on the team further ensures the highest level of creativity and innovation," said President Neil Portnow.
The 2008 Grammy Awards will be held at the Staples Centre in LA on February 10. Kanye West and Amy Winehouse head up the nominations with eight each.
