One Direction To Appear On Australian X Factor!

One Direction fans were sent into a tailspin today as it was (very subtly) announced that they will be returning to Australia to play some sort of role in the new season of the X Factor.

There has been little information given on the exact nature of the role the boys will play in the show -- but a promo video sent round to numerous media outlets and posted on The X Factor website has put fans excitement into fever pitch!

In the clip, voiced by host Luke Jacobz, retells One Direction's extraordinary rise to fame after appearing on the UK version of The X Factor.

All fairly straight forward right? Wrong!

Following on from the boy's incredible story came this announcement. "And here comes the next big announcement... One Direction joins Australia's X Factor to find Australia's next superstar or supergroup."

And it finished with one important message.

"This year X Factor is different."

Most of the speculation seems to put the boys in some sort of mentor role for contestants -- but it looks like everyone will have to sit tight until this is confirmed!
