Avril's "Too Sexy" For Malaysia

Avril Lavigne has reportedly been urged to cancel her tour in Malaysia because her moves are "too sexy" for the Islamic audience.

Islamists say they don't want their teenagers to be influenced by Avril's performances.

"It is considered too sexy for us," explained Kamarulzaman Mohamed, an official of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party's youth wing. "It's not good for viewers in Malaysia. We don't want our people, our teenagers, influenced by their performance. We want clean artists, artists that are good role models."

Lavigne joins other artists including Gwen Stefani and the Pussycat Dolls who have also been heavily censored when performing in the conservative country.

Avril is scheduled to play in Kuala Lumpur on Friday August 29. No decision has been made by the Malaysian government as to whether it can go ahead.
