Nicole Keen for Keane

Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger has enlisted the help of Keane frontman Tim Rice-Oxley to write a new song.

Scherzinger apparently begged Rice-Oxley to work with her because she is such a huge fan of his music.

"I've always been a fan of Keane and followed them for a long time," Nicole explains. "So one day I physically put myself in front of Tim and said to him - "Get in the studio with me or else!" So we found a piano and began to write."

The collaboration resulted in the track 'American Girl', which Scherzinger won't be releasing for a while.
