Christina's Cover Crisis!

Christina's Cover Crisis!

13 September 2006

Christina Aguilera's people are furious at Vibe Magazine, after they put Bobby Brown on the cover of their October mag, when previously they had promised it to Christina.

The mega pop star's manager Irving Azoff, was so incensed by the situation that he wrote a nasty letter to the mag, claiming breach of contract. Due to a change in ownership at the mag their original editor-in-chief was no longer employed there, causing the mix-up.

Aguilera's rep, Cindy Guagenti, attempted to sound civil about the matter, saying, "Christina is completely within the scope of the magazine - she is very relevant to Vibe's readers, and we would still like them to honour their commitment. We want them to give us back our cover!"

But the new peeps at Vibe didn't seem particularly keen to feature Christina, even after all this furore. Their new editor, Danyel Smith said, "We are so pleased that an artist of Christina Aguilera's stature would want to be on our cover, and we hope to work with her on something in the future."

These days, Bobby Brown is more famous for his addiction issues with wife Whitney Houston and several assault charges, than his successful 1980's singing career.
