R&B star Chris Brown has begun shooting a recurring role on 'The O.C'.

At only 17 years old, the 'Run It' singer fits perfectly into the show's age group. He plays band geek 'Will Tutt' and will debut on the show early next year. His storyline as a classmate and romantic interest for Kaitlin Cooper will span throughout the season.

"I'm really stepping out of my own character," says Chris, who also features in the upcoming film, 'Stomp The Yard'.

Fans of the hit show are eager to see whether it will be able to survive without one of it's favourite characters, Marissa Cooper (played by Mischa Barton), who was killed off at the end of the last series.

The channel 10 drama made its return to Australian screens last night, closely following the American series return last week.
