POWDERFINGER CLEARED

Powderfinger have been cleared by the Queensland government after a song on their new album had controversial lyrics pertaining to deaths in custody at Palm Island in 2004.

Lawyers for the band apparently sent a revised copy of the song 'Black Tears' to the government, who then waived any legal charges.

BORAT TO FREDDIE?

The man who brought us characters such as Borat and Ali G has apparently been offered the role of Queen singer Freddie Mercury in a movie about his life.

A publicist for the comic has denied the rumours, saying they are "absolutely untrue" and "pure hokum!"

ROBBIE BUYS CAR FOR NEIGHBOUR

Apparently Robbie Williams has purchased a Bentley for his next door neighbour, actor Joe Pesci.

Rumours were that Pesci regularly complains about Williams' friends parking in his driveway, so Robbie thought it would be a fitting gift!
