Former Black Eyed Peas star Fergie has recorded the opening song for the long-awaited 'Sex and the City' movie, and joins a string of other hit artists on the soundtrack.
Fergie's song, 'Labels or Love', was written by hit music producer Salaam Remi, who has previously worked with Amy Winehouse and the Fugees. The idea fo the soundtrack, according the film's producer Michael Patrick King, was "to create a soundtrack for the ultimate movie about love."
Fergie is excited about the song and the movie. "I grew up watching Sex and the City," she says, "and I know a lot of my girlfriends did as well. We felt like these characters were our friends, so to be a part of this project has been amazing. I'm such a fan of the show and am very flattered they asked me to be involved."
Other artists featuring on the soundtrack include 'Dreamgirls' star Jennifer Hudson (who also stars in the film as Carrie's assistant), India Arie, Al Green and jazz diva Joss Stone.
'Sex and the City: The Movie' hits cinemas in Australia on June 5.
