New Coldplay Single a Hit

The world premiere of Coldplay's new single 'Violet Hill' resulted in over 600,000 downloads from the band's website in the 24 hour period immediately following its release!
Coldplay made the single available for free download from their site www.coldplay.com on Tuesday night, and within 12 hours 'Violet Hill' had been downloaded 300,000 times.
'Violet Hill' is available free for a week, before it's official digital release on Monday May 6.
