Pop princess Kylie Minogue has been honoured for her contribution to French culture, on the eve of her European tour.
Kylie was yesterday awarded the 'Chevaliler dans L'ordre des Arts et Letters' (or in English - a 'Knight in the Order of Arts and Letters') in a ceremony held at the French Culture Ministry in Paris.
Organisers described Kylie as the "princess of pop, the uncontested Queen of the dance floor".
Kylie was excited to receive the award. "I am deeply honoured to be recognized this way," Minogue said in a statement. "French culture has influenced me greatly and I have always had colossal respect for the arts and people of France."
Kylie's 'KylieX2008' tour kicks off in Paris today.
