COLDPLAY AND KILLERS THRILL WITH STAR-STUDDED CONCERT

20 February 2009

Rockers COLDPLAY and THE KILLERS staged an all-star gig on Wednesday night (18Feb09) - with BONO and TAKE THAT frontman GARY BARLOW putting in surprise appearances at a one-off charity concert.
The Yellow hitmakers and the rockers' frontman Brandon Flowers had performed at the Brit Awards at London's Earl's Court earlier in the evening.
They were forced to make a quick dash across the U.K. capital in time for the War Child charity event at the The O2 Shepherds Bush Empire.
The two headlining acts thrilled the 2,000 lucky fans who were waiting at the venue by putting on a selection of their own hits - but it was the star-studded collaborations with their guests that really delighted the audience.
At the end of the set, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin declared to the crowd, "This is going to be the best encore you've ever seen," before introducing Barlow and U2's Bono to the stage.
Martin and Barlow duetted on Take That classic Back for Good before Bono and Flowers came out to join the pair on The Killers' 2005 hit All These Things That I've Done.
U2's The Edge, Martin's wife Gwyneth Paltrow, actress Anna Friel, and Pet Shop Boys' singer Neil Tennant were among the stars watching from the audience. (CL/WNE/AV)
