Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears to Star in TV Show Together?

JESSICA SIMPSON is trying to persuade BRITNEY SPEARS to join her for a new TV sitcom, according to U.S. reports.

The Dukes of Hazzard star has approached Spears with the idea of teaming up for a buddy comedy, like beloved series Laverne & Shirley, reports the Globe.

Both singers have toyed with comedy roles - Simpson starred in the films Major Movie Star, Blonde Ambition and Employee of the Month, and Spears won over TV critics when she played a ditzy secretary in U.S. sitcom How I Met Your Mother last year (08).

A source says, "Britney seems genuinely interested in working with her. She's said they'll talk further when she finishes her Circus tour.
