Nicole Scherzinger: "I Don't Intend on Leaving the Pussycat Dolls"

28 May 2009

Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger has been under intense scrutiny recently as to whether she'll be leaving The Pussycat Dolls since their last two songs have been released as "The Pussycat Dolls featuring Nicole Scherzinger".

take40.com spoke to her backstage at their concert at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, where she told us the truth about the future of the band and her solo career.

"I've been with the Dolls for many years now and I don't intend on leaving the Dolls," Nicole told take40.com. "I think that if I work on music or solo projects in the future it doesn't signify that I'm leaving the group - I'm just kind of doing my own stuff, just as I would support any of the other girls to do their thing as well."

So could the Pussycat Dolls survive without Nicole?

"I don't know... dun dun dunnn."

As far as her never released album 'Her Name is Nicole', which was slated to drop in 2007, she simply says the stars hadn't aligned in the right way for her.

"I never put the album out. It wasn't the right time. I believe there is timing for everything... I had heaps of music that I had done but I felt like people wanted another Pussycat Dolls album so I went back into the studio, did a 'Dolls album [which] a lot of my solo songs ended up on."

According to Nicole, the future of solo career lies with her supporters.

"I guess it depends on the fans when my next project comes out but I'm going to be hitting the studio as soon as I finish this tour."
