Bitter Mariah Carey Snubs Grammy Nominations

Always the optimist (realist?), Mariah Carey has withdrawn herself from the running for 2010 Grammy nominations in order to avoid disappointment if she loses.

Mariah's next album 'Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel' is due to be released on September 29 in the USA, scheduled purposely one day after the cut off date for a Grammy nod.

Since 1991, Carey has only won 5 Grammys out of a whopping 21 nominations.

"Mariah's been shafted so many times before that it's like a big 'Kiss my butt' to the Grammy folks," a music industry source told the New York Daily News. "She doesn't need the awards, because her career is already so successful."

Sounds like her 'source' is a tad bitter as well!
