All-American Rejects guitarist Nick Wheeler shed some light on the meaning behind their hot new single 'I Wanna' when take40.com spoke to him and drummer Chris at their Melbourne hotel this weekend.

"Yeah, 'I Wanna' was actually the first song we wrote for 'When The World Comes Down', so we kinda started off on the right foot I guess," Nick told take40.com.

"Tyson came up with the idea on the road while we were touring 'Move Along' it was like... two years straight on the road, barely going home. And when all you see is planes, buses, cars, insides of venues, dressing rooms and hotels... it starts to feel like a prison."

"That's kinda what the song's about... you're locked away in this hole and all you wanna do is touch somebody."

So we have to ask - it's not about a massive orgy?!

"Yeah, that's what I meant! I blacked out just then, that's what I said right?!" Nick laughs.

"Menage-a-seven?!" Chris chimes in.

Let's try explaining the song again...

"Ahh, yeah that's just a song about an orgy..." says Nick.

We'd love to tell you what they said after that comment... but then we'd have to wash your eyes and ears out with soap... and we can't really be bothered!

The All-American Rejects have just wrapped up their Australian tour, which included a stint at Kia Soul Live At The Chapel, to be broadcast on Channel 7 on Sunday September 20 at 1pm.
