Lady Gaga's cover of John Lennon's infamous hit 'Imagine' has gained her an unlikely fan... Lennon's widow Yoko Ono!

GaGa performed 'Imagine' at the Human Rights Campaign dinner in Washington DC earlier this month.

The dinner celebrated gay rights and commemorated the death of teenager Matthew Shepard who was bashed and tortured to death for being homosexual in 1998.

John Lennon's widow apparently contacted Lady GaGa to voice her approval of GaGa's 'Imagine' rendition!

GaGa was touched with the praise, saying: "That could be the most exciting thing that's ever happened. She's my idol."
