Empire Of The Sun Dominate 2009 ARIA Awards!

Empire of the Sun are the big winners at this year's 2009 ARIA Awards, taking home 4 of the pointy shiny statues.

Empire of the Sun's Luke Steele was here to accept all the awards, including Best Pop Release, Best Group, Single of the Year (Walking On A Dream), and the top honour, Album of the Year.

Steele acknowledged the absence of his bandmate Nick Littlemore, who is currently on some bizarre hiatus from the band running amuck somewhere in the US, during his acceptance speech for 'Best Pop Release'.

"Everybody say hi to invisible Nick!" he joked.

Ladyhawke followed closely with 2 major wins for Breakthrough Artist and Breakthrough Single for her hit 'My Delirium'.

Sadly for Jessica Mauboy she bombed out of winning all of her massive seven ARIA nominations, managing to score only one award for Highest Selling Single for her hit 'Running Back'.
