It's been a big year in gossip here at Take 40 HQ and seeing as we're getting close to Xmas and New Year, we decided it was about time we counted down the biggest celebrity scandals of the year...and what a year it's been!

10. Twilight Romance: Robert Pattinson/Kristen Stewart Dating - Are They or Aren't They?
Central to the craziness of the Twilight franchise and the release of the second movie 'New Moon' recently, has been the supposed relationship between the two on-screen lovers Edward and Bella. Despite photographic evidence, the stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart refuse to admit whether or not they're an item. So - are they shy, or are we being taken for a ride so they can publicize their movies?!? Either way, we're still total Twi-hards!

9. Miss California: Gay Marriage Scandal, Nude Photos and Porn!
The former Miss California 2009 hit headlines after she unleashed her views against gay marriage in the 2009 Miss Universe Pageant. In the end her crown was taken away from her for "breach of contract" and rightly so, because plenty of skeletons came falling out of the closet after that! First there was the revelation the pageant paid for her plastic boobs, then her nude/topless pics then... eep... home-made porno tapes!

8. Sonia Kruger/Todd McKenney
Aussie TV personalities Sonia Kruger and Todd McKenney shocked the country when they announced that they were thinking about having a baby together via the cover of The Australian Women's Weekly in June. Having a baby isn't that controversial in itself, but the pair aren't a couple, in fact Todd is openly gay but is keen on another child, after having his first with another female friend in 07. Todd and Sonia hosted a breakfast radio show together recently, and have been best friends since they met on the movie 'Strictly Ballroom' at age 17. Todd was in the headlines last year as well after he was found collapsed in a Sydney park after a big night out.

7. Kellie from Hi-5's Sexy Ralph Photoshoot!
Former children's TV show host Kellie Crawford shocked parents when she stripped off for lad's mag Ralph following her split from the show 'Hi-5'. "It was a good way for me to get in touch with myself again and find the woman in me," she said. These days she's pursuing a career as a radio host.

Who knew pro-golfing was so controversial?! Here we had Tiger pinned as a nice, family guy, meanwhile he was slutting around all over the place... We feel sorry for the wife and kids!




5. Britney Miming During Australian Tour
For some reason the fact that Britney - shock (!!) horror (!!) - mimed when she was in Australia was big news. Errr, that's kind of her thing. Britney is the Queen of miming, that's not exactly news! Britney not miming would be sacrilegious!!!

4. Lady Gaga - a Hermaphrodite?
And the most ridiculous (but somewhat believable?!?) rumour of the year award goes to the whole "is Lady Gaga a hermaphrodite?" rumour. C'mon people, we know she's wacky, but we don't really think she has anything down there to hide! When quizzed by take40.com, Gaga was a good spot, saying "my beautiful vagina is so terribly offended!"

3. Kanye-gate
Kanye's interruption of Taylor Swift at this year's MTV Video Music Awards while she was receiving an award was very rude, but it definitely got blown WAY out of proportion! You'd think he was the anti-christ or something the way everyone went on about it, including celebrities like Pink and Kelly Clarkson. And don't get us started on the "Imma Let You Finish, But..." jokes. It's over!

2. Michael Jackson's Death
Definitely the most tragic news in the Entertainment world this year was the death of Michael Jackson from an overdose of prescription drugs. Unfortunately his death became somewhat of a circus, with plenty of people coming out of the woodwork to put in their 2 cents about Michael and his life. His ex-wife Debbie Rowe even admitted that the children her and Michael had together weren't actually genetically related to him, another man had been the donor.

1. Rihanna/Chris Brown Assault/Nude Photos Scandal
It was a rough year for Rihanna. In February this year the music world was shocked by news that her superstar boyfriend, R&B star Chris Brown, had assaulted her in a car on the way back from a Grammy pre-party in LA. Even more shocking was a photo of Rihanna leaked after the incident, showing just how badly he'd beaten her up. Things didn't get much better for Ri-Ri - in June a stack of nude photos of her turned up on the internet! After that there was even a sex tape, but THANK GOD, it turned out the girl in the vid was a porn-star, not Rihanna!
