Mariah Carey Reveals Babies' Names

Mariah Carey has revealed the names of her newborn twin babies -- her daughter will be called Monroe, and her son Moroccan Scott.

Mariah and husband Nick Cannon welcomed the babies into the world over the weekend, but she kept the names a secret and made her Twitter followers guess what the babies were called.

But she decided to end the guessing game on Wednesday and share the newborns' names with the world.

In a tweet to fans, a representative for the singer writes, "Mariah & Nick reveal the names of #dembabies Monroe Cannon & Moroccan Scott Cannon!"

Monroe is named after Marilyn Monroe, while Moroccan's name was inspired by the Moroccan Room in Mariah's New York apartment, which features North African-themed decor. It was also the location of Nick's proposal to Mariah in 2008.

Moroccan shares his middle name with Nick, which is also the maiden name of his grandmother.

Monroe was not given a middle name because Mariah doesn't have one either.
