Lindsay Lohan has started her 120 day jail sentence in the comfort of her own luxury home.
Lindsay surrendered to authorities Lynwood Jail in Los Angeles on Thursday, and she was fitted with an electronic ankle bracelet and allowed to return to her home in Venice, California.
Los Angeles Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore tells People.com, "She is now confined to the interior premises of her home at all times."
Prison overcrowding, and the fact that Lindsay is a non-violent offender, made her eligible for house arrest.
Lindsay was sentenced in April to serve time for violating her probation on a 2007 DUI charge. She was also ordered to complete 480 hours of community service for stealing a necklace from a California jewellery store in January.
Lindsay spent time partying in Miami in the lead up to her confinement.
