James Blunt Offends Polish Fans With Photo

22 June 2011

James Blunt has offended his Polish fans after posting a photo of himself standing outside a derelict building on his Facebook account.

The photo shows James standing outside a half finished building near Auschwitz in Poland, and includes the caption "Err... this is my hotel in Poland."

So far the photo has had nearly 6,000 comments, mostly from Polish fans who believe that James is presenting their country as rundown and backward.

And although some websites have reported the photo as being taken at the Auschwitz concentration camp, it is actually a photo of a building that is under construction, and has no connection to the notorious Nazi death camp.

James was actually staying at the nearby Niebieski Art Hotel and Spa in Krakow. He seems to have posted the picture as an innocent joke.

He is yet to comment on the controversy.
