Jay Dee Springbett's Ex-Fiancee Rules Out Suicide

20 July 2011

Jay Dee Springbett's ex-fiancee is convinced that the former Australian Idol judge did not commit suicide, because he was "in a good place" at the time of his shock death.

The former Sony music executive was found dead in his apartment last month, and police have declared that his death was not suspicious. Tests are still being conducted to determine how he died.

And now Louise McCole, the mother of his two daughters, has spoken out to silence suicide rumours. She insists that Jay Dee was "looking forward to the future" prior to his death.

She told New Idea magazine, "There's no way on Earth he would do that (commit suicide). He just could not have left his girls. He would do anything for them, they were his world... I think he had a heart attack... He was in a good place. He was really excited. Everything was falling into place. He had made peace with what was going on in his life and was looking forward to the future."

Jay Dee was a judge on the final season of Australian Idol.
