Rob Pattinson Supports Blood Charity

Rob Pattinson is using his fame to raise awareness about blood cancer.

After his role as Edward Cullen in the hit vampire series Twilight made him a household name, Pattinson wants to use that status for good, and is ironically choosing to support blood cancer awareness.

During his acceptance speech at the Teen Choice Awards yesterday, Rob announced his support of the Cancer Bites charity initiative, which launches this October around Halloween.

"When I heard about the Cancer Bites initiative, I knew very little about how prevalent blood cancer is because there have been so few national campaigns about it."

R-Patz encouraged viewers to go to the Cancer Bites website for more information about blood cancer and how they can help.

Rob picked up awards for 'Choice Vampire' and 'Choice Movie Actor' at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards.
