This is one for the seriously strange archives! CBS News is reporting that a man has been arrested in Montreal for breaking into acclaimed singer Celine Dion's house, eating her food, and then attempting to take a bath.
According to police, 36-year-old Daniel Bedard jumped a fence onto the property, found a garage door opener in one of Celine's unlocked cars, and used it to enter the house. Once inside he went straight to business raiding the singer's refrigerator for pastries before heading to her bathroom to draw a bath.
An alarm alerted police shortly thereafter who arrived promptly and arrested the man.
Laval police spokesman Franco Di Genova said "He opened the water faucets, was pouring a nice warmish bath [and] he even managed to eat some pastry that was in the fridge."
"The suspect was coming down the big staircase and was asking: 'Hey, guys what are you doing here?'. So the officers replied: 'What are you doing here?' and they proceeded to put him under arrest."
Dion and her family were not present at the house at the time of the break-in.
CBS News reported that the man was charged with breaking and entering, auto theft, and causing property damage.
That is one comfortable crook! Make yourself at home and eat Celine's... pastry?!
