Coldplay Tried Hypnosis For New Record

30 October 2011

Stadium rockers Coldplay have revealed that in an attempt to create new material for their latest album Mylo Xolot they tried hypnosis on the recommendation of producer Brian Eno.

Though the band conceded that the session didn't really contribute anything to the song writing process, they did reveal that they will attempt anything in order to tap into new creative territories.

Coldplay's bass player Guy Berryman recently said, "We're not afraid to try different things. Brian Eno brought a friend in and the four of us were playing music under hypnosis. It didn't really come to anything. You try 10 ideas and only one works. But nothing is too stupid to us."

Producer Brian Eno is known for his left of centre attempts to draw the best out of the bands he works with.

Regardless of the sessions success, he seems to have done just that with this latest album!
