In what is fast becoming a Hollywood trend, another celeb is rumoured to be playing Marilyn Monroe in an upcoming production!
This week Oscar-Winning Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein has revealed he wants Katy Perry to play Marilyn Monroe in a Broadway version of his latest movie.
The film "My Week with Marilyn" stars Michelle Williams as the screen icon, and is based on the memoirs of Colin Clark, who spent a week with Marilyn in 1957 when she was in the UK.
Weinstein has his eye on pop star Perry taking on the role for the stage version.
He admitted "If 'My Week with Marilyn' is successful, at some point, five years, ten years from now, I think Katy would be perfect to play Marilyn Monroe ... on Broadway, sing those songs, do the dances."
"I mean Michelle could do it. Michelle is so good she could do it live, if she ever wanted to do it... but Katy would blow it out of the universe, and that's the kind of Broadway show I'd like to make," Weinstein added.
Weinstein met Perry last year when he took his daughters to the annual Jingle Ball concert at New York's Madison Square Garden.
Michelle Williams is tipped to receive an Oscars nomination for her performance in 'My Week With Marilyn.'
