Florence Welch from Florence and The Machine has beaten out multi-award winner Adele at the NME Awards in London on Wednesday (29 February).
Welch took home the Best Solo Artist and Best Track trophies, as well as delivering one of the night's highlight performances.
Other big winners on the night were the Foo Fighters (Best International Band), The Horrors (Best Album for Skying) and Arctic Monkeys (Best Live Band).
Kasabian were named Best British Band, and band member Tom Meighan kicked took the opportunity during his acceptance speech to make a tribute to recently passed The Monkees singer Davy Jones.
Meighan led the crowd in a rendition of The Monkees theme tune, Hey Hey! We're The Monkees and later dedicated the Award to the memory of Jones.
He said, "I want to dedicate it to Davy Jones from The Monkees who died today. He was 66 years old. My mother loved The Monkees."
