Katy Perry has just released her first music video since splitting from Russell Brand, and no surprise, 'Part Of Me' is about a shattering break up!
While the song itself was written years before Katy even met Russell, she did change some of the lyrics to reflect her current situation, singing:
"So you can keep the diamond ring, It don't mean anything, In fact you can keep everything, yeah yeah, Except for me."

The song itself is really catchy and we love it... but to be honest we're not really sure about the theme of the video.
In the clip, Katy catches her boyfriend messing around with another girl, and to get over it she... uh joins the army. She cuts off all her hair, starts training for battle, and then goes into combat.
All the while she's lamenting the end of her last true love, while singing under an American flag.
It seems a strange nationalistic theme for a song about a breakup!
