Gotye Dominates APRA Awards 2012 - Winners List Here!

29 May 2012

The APRA (Australasian Performing Right Association) Awards were held last night in Sydney, and were hosted by Missy Higgins and Jonathan Biggins.

Unsurprisingly Gotye (aka Wally De Backer) dominated the proceedings, and walked away with three of the awards, including 'Song Of The Year' for his runaway hit 'Somebody That I Used To Know,' featuring Kimbra.

Tina Arena with Tex Perkins also performed a special rendition of Somebody That I Used To Know during the ceremony.

"I'm genuinely surprised," Gotye said of the worldwide hit song, just after collecting the APRA for 'Most Played Australian Work Of The Year.'

"The song's been played a lot, I know - I was starting to get self-conscious. Sorry for those people who listen to commercial radio and had to listen to it 50 times a day at their workplace."

Other guests of the night included Yusuf Islam (formerly known as Cat Stevens) who got a standing ovation when he presented the first award of the night.
