The X Factor Australia Recap - Episode 1 Monday 20th Of August

The X Factor premiered its new season tonight -- and while many may have had their doubts about the show they were quickly silenced by the impressive line-up of first round auditions!

The show opened without much of an intro -- taking us straight into the first act Isabella, who absolutely owned the stage with her gorgeous rendition of Bon Iver's Skinny Love!

The judges love her, the audience love her and we can't get enough of her! What a start to the show!

But to prove that talent like Bella isn't a fluke -- next up is What About Tonight, a five piece boyband that could well be Australia's answer to One Direction. The boys need a bit of vocal work -- but we can't wait to see how they go as they progress through the show!

In a night of many standouts two other contestants made themselves known -- lifesaver Adil for his good looks and honey toned voice and 14-year-old knockout Shiane who delivered that best 'surprise' moment of the night when she got the audience to their feet for Duffy's Mercy.

Industry pro Samantha seems like the whole package -- but is it fair to have someone that has already had so much experience in the industry (and a personal connection with one of the judges) through?

And just when you thought they were going to skip it altogether -- The X Factor starts to roll out some of the not so great auditions -- unleashing 16-year-old Jasmine on the audience with her cringe worthy rendition of Whitney Houston! But we do have to commend her on her bravery!

With many of the artists already trending on Twitter.com we can't wait to see where this season of The X Factor is going to take us!
