The X Factor Australia Recap Monday 17th September - The Collective Storm The Live Shows!

17 September 2012

The first X Factor live show opened with “Australia’s answer to One Direction” What About Tonight - with a version of The Wanted’s Glad You Came. The judges unanimously agreed that it was a great opening to the show – even though they struggled to hear the boys over the screaming crowd!

Josh Brookes was “in his element” onstage performing Don’t Wanna Go Home by Jason Derulo and there was no surprise that Angel Tupai absolutely owned her rendition of Leona Lewis’ Happy.

Justin Standley performed an emotional version of Father & Son, that had even Ronan Keating cheering – but Fortune didn’t hit the mark for the judges with their rendition of Payphone by Maroon 5

Meet Ronan Keating’s New Girlfriend!

Jason Owen divided the judges on his performance of Heaven by Brian Adams – with Guy Sebastian saying that it had “no heart”.

Industry veteran Samantha Jade gave a breathtaking rendition of Katy Perry’s Wide Awake, with Ronan calling it “better than Katy Perry”!

Adil followed on from Samantha – and although the package before his live performance showed that he is struggling with self-belief, he gave an assured and joyful performance of Fast Car by Tracy Chapman. But did have Guy and Mel B arguing over his famed physic! Then The X Factor’s own The Collective were lowered onto the stage and left the judges speechless with their “phenomenal” performance of Domino – with Ronan calling it the “best performance on X Factor anywhere in the world!
