Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong unleashed a tirade of expletives as well as a dig at Justin Bieber live on stage during the band’s set at the iHeart Radio Music Festival earlier this week (September 21).
The lead singer became increasingly agitated during the show because a scheduling problem with Usher (who happens to be Justin Beiber’s mentor) had forced the band to reduce their 45 minute set down to just 20 minutes.
Billie Joe’s frustration peaked upon learning that they only had one minute of their slot remaining, at which point he cut the song short and yelled, "Oh f*** this shit. I’m gonna play a f***ng new song. F***k this shit. Give me a f***ing break. One minute left. You're gonna give me one f***ing minute?"

But it didn’t stop there with the frontman going on to say, “Let me tell you something, I've been around since 198-f***ing-8. And you're gonna give me one f***ing minute? You've gotta be f***ing kidding me! You’re f***ing kidding me. What the f***! I'm not f***ing Justin Bieber, you motherf***ers."
Billie Joe concluded his rant in true rockstar fashion by lifting the guitar over his shoulders and breaking it into pieces on the ground. The singer then looked back at the audience for one final parting statement saying, "One minute. God f***ing love you all. We'll be back," before storming off stage.
As for Justin Bieber’s reaction to the situation - the pop star's simple response was to tweet a link to a live performance video of Green Day playing their song Basket Case.
The unexpected outburst comes just days before the release of the band’s first album in a new album trilogy, ¡Uno!. It also comes on the back of a successful surprise appearance at Reading festival and the announcement of a huge UK stadium tour for next year.
